Strategic Planning For Your Business

“In the absence of clearly-defined goals, we become strangely loyal to performing daily trivia until ultimately we become enslaved by it.” – Robert Heinlein

Do you spend more time working in or on your business? If you don’t spend time on your business, you may not have to worry long about working in it. A professional sports team would not dream of walking on the field without a pre-determined game plan/strategy. You should not dream of operating without the same for your business.

Where to start?

  1. Identify your true core business. Evaluate if that is owning your attention or if you are overwhelmed with putting out fires and “administrivia.”
  2. Do a gap analysis. Where are we, and where do we want to be? Create a plan for getting there. (Email me and I will send you a simple form for this.)
  3. Establish five overriding objectives for this year. Plan big, but allocate resources accordingly.

When I conduct a strategic planning session for a company, it is staggering how much clarity and direction the team can come away with in just a few hours of focused thinking.
